The community of Selva consists of the settlements of: Selva, Caimari, Biniamar, Binibona and Moscari.
It is in the north of Mallorca, between the southern foothills of the Sierra de Tramuntana and the island’s central plain. It has an area of 47.48 km2 with a population of 2903. The mountains are calcareous, roughly formed and massive, with natural forestation and varied terrains.
The most important craft in the region is the production of shoes and leather goods. Bricks and ceramic forms continue to be made from clay, as well as olive oil and stone carvings.
The patron saint, St. Llorenç, is celebrated on 10 August.
